Clumsy fingers on numeric keys, and a rating to be achieved. Time to research joystick reviews.
The Saitek X52 Flight Controller Joystick was the affordable 1st Choice @ £80 (reduced from £110).

UK retail cocked-up supply though, so opted for a 'Low End' PC Pro Flight 2 Model No.: JS282 by Logic3.

At £20 from the local computer shack, it's smooth, sensitive, robust, accurate and easy to set up. Works on Windows from 98 to 7. It has helped improve my game.

Get a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro $30.................. I play Oolite with it, it's great:)
$30 in USA not sure about UK.....maybe £30
But well worth it:)
