New Novella?

Post by drew »

Folks,

I guess this is a bit OT, but has anyone considered writing a new novella to highlight Oolite?

I was playing the other day thinking how good some of the oxp's are and how they would make excellent plot devices. Particularly things like the pirates cove and so on.

I'm a bit of an amatuer hack myself, and have had a few short stories published. I've always wanted to do a sci-fi story but never really got around to it. I'be interested to have a go at a short story based around Oolite, perhaps to move it on from the original Elite novella.

Thought it prudent to ask for permission first, obviously I wouldn't presume to make any money out of it, it would be done strictly just for fun and everyone's enjoyment, and it could incorporate ideas from the folks on the board and be published here online.

What do you think?

Cheers,

Drew.

Winston kinda beat you to it... There's a short story somewhere on the Wiki (can't find it)

But that is not to say you can always try and better him! :D

Cool,

Glad the precident has been set. I'll get to work.

My original idea was to make a sort of 'link' between elite and oolite, which connects the two 'eras' in a meaningful way.

I've got some ideas forming, will keep you posted.

Cheers,

Drew.
