We like to use rock-dust to season our Commanders before roasting...

I frequently see mining ships blasting asteroids.
Even in the heat of a big battle the thargoids take time to blast the witchpoint buoy.
I have also once seen a NPC destroy a Rock Hermit pirate nest. This was before Rock Hermits started to be labelled "Pirate Cove - Bounty 100 Cr"
I took it up as a regular practice and used to in fact recieve the 100 Cr bonus.
