I'm afraid if you saw it in a bright daylight you would never buy it. Let's see if I can get a climpse of if in the ship yard. There it's much harder to hide unpleasant things like thorougly corrosed hull.Diziet Sma wrote:I'd wait to see it in better light befo re making a decision..

Experimenting with materials and finally getting the rusty look I'm after. A better view of a rusty Griff Adder. Rusty Griff Ships are on their way .

The poor thing must have spent a lot of time in atmosphere to end up looking like that!
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Cool. I love Griff's ships, but always thought that they look too good in a realistic Ooniverse. What happens to the old ships? There should be all sorts in various conditions.spara wrote:Experimenting with materials and finally getting the rusty look I'm after. A better view of a rusty Griff Adder. It's Oolite space - anything is possible!Wildeblood wrote:Please explain how objects would rust in space?spara wrote:It's not shiny anymore. It's got rust in it.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Wondered the same thing myself for a long time.. finally I concluded it had to be the humid, oxygen-rich atmosphere in the Station docking bays and the occasional planetary landing that do the damage.Wildeblood wrote:Please explain how objects would rust in space?spara wrote:It's not shiny anymore. I think I'd prefer a platinum-coated Cobra - classier!

Re: Screenshots
Luckily we already have the Solid Gold Cobra Mk.3.
About the rusties: I see that they are ships that have seen a lot of action, made a lot of planet falls and such. Then they have just been abandoned to some desolate scrapyard. One day some shady second hand dealer comes, buys the wreck, makes it move again and tags it with a price tag so low that some sucker will eventually buy it.
