I'm still amazed that so many can automatically complete the captcha. Maybe it's time to switch to a new captcha system, or is that tightly integrated into the bbs?

edit: or (I have a short memory :P) are they using human captcha monkeys?
It's not automatic. If there was an automatic reCaptcha-breaker out there, we'd be flooded. A shortish while ago, the Captcha was turned off, as an experiment, and the spambots poured in. Given that we're only dealing with a few tens of bots every day, I assume that those which are getting through are using human agents to break the Captcha. More fools them: most are exterminated at the pre-signup stage; those which do join only last a few hours, tops; and none of them get to make any spammy posts in any case because first posts are all vetted.

Aye, 'tis true! At times though, I reckon a Gatling gun might be more suitable!
