I have a quick test version to play around with. The tanks are not frangiable because I'm not that good at modelmaking yet. Also, for some reason, oolite does not read the texture, but I am not able to see where my error is. Can someone help please?

The problem is with the folders...the names should start with a capital, so rename config as Config etc and you'll be fine. The ship looks good :D

OK I know I have a few things out there still classified as test releases but I have some more coming up.

The first, as discussed on the Blender thread (which I don't wish to hijack as it is a fantastic source of info for working with Blender) is the Clone Wars Acclamator Class (the sort of star destroyer like ship from Attack of the Clones)

The add-on is heavily derivative of Staer9's Star Destroyer, and will therefore be credited as such. If possible I will keep the turrets, but also give it multiple front lasers as an NPC. Also I intend to change its role to a system vessel. In Star Wars the main role of the ship is as a troop transport, so maybe its backstory could be the same.

Additionally, Azzameen's Star Wars ships oxp something I am in the process of re-working. As well as amended models where needed, I intend to retexure the ships and make some other adjustments, such as making the ships less uber and not always pirate.

The Duck Class (white van man) also needs an airing and hopefully can be released at some point.

Sorry I have been quiet recently, - real life. but there is also another reason why I have been unable to release the ships I have created. I cannot work out how to place and define exhaust plumes using quaternions. Is there a simple converter I can use whereby I can pull off the model, the XYZ of the tailpipe(s), and convert it accordingly to an oolite readable quaternion? - the same goes for placing turrets which I want to do for the Acclamator class.

The tanker, using luck rather than good judgement was able to use the anaconda as a base.

Fortunatley I have a week off work coming up so hopefully can make some headway with this.

Exhausts don't use quaternions.


The first 3 digits are the co- ordinated of the exhaust origin (ie the point that they emit from). The next two are the x width and y height of the trail. The last one is the z length multiplier, in the range of 0 to 2.


The origin co-ords are basically just a point on your model as defined in Blender. Full details are in the wiki as usual.

Although I enjoy constructing starship models, I still have problems with compiling a workable oxp, and have got frustrated and lost interest. Therefore, unfortunately I am going to give it a break for a bit. When I had posted previews of what I was intending, the response seemed positive so it would be a shame to simply disappear and take these models with me. For anyone with blender, I am making available a set of models for onward use, should anyone wish to do anything with these. The 3D models are complete and the textures are mostly finished. the ones with plists in them, these have simply been borrowed from another oxp of a similar sort of craft, with the hope of modifying it to suit. No plagiarism intended.

That’s a shame to here Amaranth as I was looking forward to seeing your ships in game however I hope that you enjoy your break and come back at some stage not too far in the future.

One option would be to become a ship designer and texturer as this is what you enjoy and then team up with another OXPer to produce a joint OXP where the shipdata.plists etc could be put together by someone else.

If/when you do come back feel free to drop me a PM if you want any help getting these OXPs up and running and I will see what I can do.
