That's not proof - he doesn't say "the Doctor will be female next time". It's a variant on the same theme from every transition - will he, won't he?

The pattern is now to start the rumour mill about the 50 other people who are "shortlisted" for the role but have never heard about it. Richard E. Grant will no doubt pop up again.
