Is there an OXP that give you a deployable navigation beacon?
For example, say you've found a nice rock hermit in an asteroid field and go off to the station, but you want to easily find it again, you could drop off a beacon that would stay on your compass.
I also like the idea of it transmitting a signal once every 20 seconds or so and your hud would simply report, Beacon bearing 127 mark 15, distance 1500k or something like that. Only once you got close to it would you see it on your scanner, kind of like the black box recovery but deployable at will.

This sounds very similar to Thargoid's Cargo Shepherd.

Ah that sounds like it.
I was aware of the Cargo Shepherd but not the other one.
Thanks.

In the case of rock hermits, you could use the Rock Hermit Locator OXP.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Re: Deployable Navigation Becon.
Simplest of all is Thargoid's Tracker OXP. Just get a lock on any target and activate the tracker. Anything you can get a lock on can be tracked. After that the object is tracked on the ASC until you leave the system or the object docks, lands on a planet/moon, enters witchspace or is destroyed. It can track up to 5 objects simultaneously.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Funnily enough, I was thinking about something like this as well.Diziet Sma wrote:Simplest of all is Thargoid's Tracker OXP. Just get a lock on any target and activate the tracker. Looks like they've all been done.
