Selectively Discard Cargo

Post by opticyclic »

At the moment I have a Cobra MkIII with 35 TC.

A lot of the time there is more cargo floating around than I can scoop.
Frankly, food and textiles are a waste of cargo space when I am scooping luxuries/computers/platinum.

Surely it should be possible to discard the cargo you don't want rather than (what appears to happen now) pressing D and a random piece of cargo is discarded.

shift R will allow you to switch between cargo you want to get rid of, you then press d to eject that cargo

that might be due to the ship you play with?
What model?

Maybe the 'eject hatch' is placed awkwardly...

the method you eject things effects it as well, like if your not moving and eject and then change dirrection you'll crash into it.

yes, I tried it, and it happens to me too. Is this happening since the last version (1.65 betatest) or did it happen before that? If not, put it up at testing and bugreports , it's probably the new collisiondetection stuff.

I'm in a Wolf and every time I try to dump cargo it instantly gets sucked back up. Also if I time it right I can get 21 tons of stuff in my 20t hold :D

I have a Python, but I've never had problems with cargo discharging...

Sounds like the eject hatch is located somewhere else than aft, where it should be...

it could have been too close. I uploaded a revised version at Oosat2 with better coords.

however, if you stand still, eject cargo and quickly push down, the cargo will get sucked back up again ;)

not sure about this 21t cargo thing though.

My cargo always gets distroyed when I discharge it too. This happen in cobra MkIII, python and supercobra.

I've also noticed being able to scoop more cargo than I can hold. If I get something caught in the tractor beam and then collect something else, I collect both even if it takes me above the limit.
