Would that mean that you follow a kosher \ halal type pig free diet? What about fish, which may not be strictly vegetarian?Cmd. Interesting parallel there. People hate humans testing stuff on animals. But get an alien fritzing about with a human, and they're perfectly OK with it. Double standards burn them in their saucers, that's what I say.Frame wrote:No the whole previous century is one big lie.
No moon landing,No World Wars
All the previous centuries casualties was caused by those pesky Martians pouring them down their gullets, until finally they where defeated and our minds cleared by that Xeno-Martian Mind Controlling Machine...
I'm going to soap dodge for 3 weeks, pop down the local corn field with a placard and note book. When one of those alien b**stards pops up to pull a crop circle I'll find out where he lives and burn his house down.
That'll teach them not to mess with wovery witow hummy wummys.
A couple of points (with no preferences implied) ...
Climate change may or may not be our fault. The jury is still out, although it does become increasingly obvious that if it is us, we're going to leave it too late to do anything about it. One thing is for sure - we certainly ain't helping the situation.
Fox hunters merely hunt and destroy foxes (although far fewer than some people would have us believe). Recreational anglers take positive steps to preserve the environments of the species they hunt, and support breeding programs to ensure the survival of those species. I see a difference, even if it's a selfish one.
But none of it matters. The Earth isn't real either.

You're taking me way too literally... I was just poking some fun at PETA. (Can't stand 'em...)Davidtq wrote:Would that mean that you follow a kosher \ halal type pig free diet? This is my first attempt at thread necromancy so please don't be too hash.
I saw this and thought of this thread:
http://xkcd.com/202/
Although it's hard to say but I reckon the link is even older than the thread (do I get extras marks for this?) as YouTube must have been the 'new' thing at the time.
Edit: publication date 27-12-2006.

You should only resurrect a thread if it really fits your subject. Not to do it just for the sake of looking for the oldest thread to comment on.NigelJK wrote:This is my first attempt at thread necromancy so please don't be too hash.
But nice try
Only 2006! AmateurNigelJK wrote:Edit: publication date 27-12-2006.

Re: Don't screw with Buzz Aldrin!
In fact, there is a much more recent and fitting article on XKCD's "What if?" column, regarding the idea to look with the hubble telescope for signs of the lunar landing and why it's not a great idea. Ok, they talk about earth, but the moon is mentioned, too.
(Oh, and shameless plug, you can havemultiple hubbles in Oolite... )

This is the video I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wptn5RE2I-k That's a low quality version, a better one is from 9:30 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMYyTjyWWlImaaarcooose wrote:Pity that video doesn't work any more.

The subject of anonymity on BBs in Bermuda has become quite serious.
<Distasteful remarks removed>
My point is that if Bermuda suppresses its Human Rights legislation even more than it has already done - then it may as well be called a dictatorship.drew wrote:Sometimes I'm quite glad I'm just a name on a bulletin board!

At the risk of feeding a Troll.
As a British dependency Bermuda should have a governor. His/Her email address should be publicly available. If it was me I'd make my feelings known to them.
