Or get my Misjump Inducer OXP and activate it before the jump.
(It also works on NPC wormholes, not that it's a terribly nice thing to do to other traders...)

I once intentionally mis-jumped while being chased by multiple pirates. I got to watch from the safety of my cloaked cobra while three or four of them followed me straight into a pile of thargoids :D

Just a wee bit of advice when dropping a 'gift' for the bugs. Remember to come to a complete stop before deployment as if you drop it while injecting it still has your injector speed! And your 'gift' gets returned to sender
Find out about the early influences of Fatleaf here. Also his OXP's!

If you're feeling like some stunt piloting, on the other hand, inject out into clear space, then activate your torus drive. Aim at the distant bugs, and drop the mine. Then hit the brakes and watch it fly off at high speed in front of you. Assuming you brake sharp enough, it'll be off your scanner by the time it explodes, so you need to time the launch carefully. But when it works, they won't know what hit them.

Yeah... if you're gonna use a WMD, do it from below the horizon!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Well thanks to my kamikaze efforts I've zapped enough bugs to be awarded the Bronze Medallion for defense of civilian lives and property. Long may the bug squishing continue. :D

Nicely done! 8)
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
