Would like to have the lasers coming out of the weapon ports on each side for the front laser. Is that possible?
For NPC ships, yes. Make the weapon ports into sub-entities and give them each a forward laser. This does not work for non-forward lasers, or for player ships, where the weapon must be on the main entity body.

Fair enough. I'll just get creative with where the laser port is.
maaarcooose, that is a gnarly looking ship. I really like that upright look. Might have to copy that, LOL!!
I wish it was my design. It's one of those that's burned into my memory as much as say the Enterprise is.
There are a few more ships out there with that upright look/design. Slave 1, a B-wing spring to mind straight away. Most ship design does seem to follow that pointed in direction of travel, but there no reason, especially in space, that you shouldn't just have a much more wide fronted ship.
I really fancy making some ships that are not symmetrical as well and look completely off balance.
On a complete tangent, I find it a bit ironic that in the show, he's punished by the gods for killing the giant Cyclops and his ship looks like a single eye from a Cyclops either that or the eye of Horus.
Well, I couldn't find anything on Captain Future, except that it started, and ended in the late 1970s, so I'm just going to give credit to Toei Animation, with assurances of non-financial gains in using the Comet. I don't know on what basis they would have for filing a lawsuit, seeing as they don't seem to even mention either the story, or the ship on their present website.
maaarcooose, that looks just fantastic! Well done!
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
I'm currently in the process of testing a pre-release version of the XL5 OXP (Hopefully to catch as many if not all of the bugs before I officially release it and also to make sure that the ship is suitably balanced).
I am also considering producing some alternative textures for a pirate version though this may be in an updated release (Still deciding upon this).
With regard to a release date I imagine this will be between 1 and 2 weeks away.
@ Another Commander – Regarding the ‘cigar ‘section of the ship you refer to do you mean the main body of the ship ?
I could look at smoothing it but as far as I understand this may make the model a little challenging for computers with lower powered graphics capabilities.
Also would I then need to produce a new texture map ? .....Texturing drives me mad at the best of times.
