Deep space communications so slow

Post by Commander Uzi »

Sent my 1st message from Deep Space hours ago. Has it got lost in Witchspace or have the Thargoids overrun the comms room And here was I so amazed with how things have improved in the 21st century from my day

Do new members get a message explaining that little detail when they join? If not, it may be a good idea to send them one.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

No it didn't but I knew what the issue was as I run my own forum. First posts are always moderated.

Not on the forum I moderate, they're not..

But then, we have much more efficient pre-signup-approval checking systems in place than the Oolite BB does. 95% of the spammers are caught by the automated checking scripts.. the few who manage to fool those get inspected by an Admin before login permission is given. To date, over five thousand spammers have tried, but not one has ever made it through the front door..

Yeah the credits are racking up.

I have been playing the awesome 'Sins of a Solar Empire' for ages & keep looking for something as good. Played Nexus but just didn't grab me, so in my search for something I looked at Space Sims on Google & on a forum someone mentioned Oolite & as with other recommends I had a look......WAIT A COTTON PICKING MINUTE.......ELITE REBORN

You could try Nottingham! It's the coldest, dampest, gloomiest place in the entire Ooniverse. :(
