Hello,
Could anybody recommend internet radio with music similar to Eve Online soundtrack (I do not know how this genre is called..)?
What music (if any) do you listen while wondering in space?
Internet radio as Oolite background music

Anything from my CD collection - from Bach to Zappa. I've never played Eve Online, so have no idea which genre its music falls into.Talkless wrote:What music (if any) do you listen while wondering in space?
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Here are one example. And some more here.El Viejo wrote:I've never played Eve Online
Personally, this kind of electronic music fits "space" theme best for me, I hope I could find more like that...

You might like ambient music, then. That's what I hear most of the time when I'm playing the game (or am working on the dark side). It's a little bit different than Eve Online music, but check it out.Talkless wrote:Personally, this kind of electronic music fits "space" theme best for me, I hope I could find more like that...

On Internet radio, I recommend those sides:
divbyzero (link to ambience radio stream: http://divbyzero.de:8000/chill )
hirschmilch.de (link to the ambience radio stream: http://r4.hirschmilch.de:9060/ )
Some tracks really fit very good to the game in my opinion, like when you launch from a planet or approach a sun on torus drive speed and it plays Sunstryk - Leaving Eden...
忍 knowing that enough is enough, you'll always have enough.
Running Oolite 1.77 on Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS

Meanwile I've found free downloadable collection of mixes called "Sounds for Flying" arranged by same EVE Online soundtrack creator.
Though "radio" is better choise since it wouldn't repeate so fast.. I hope..

Thanks guys! Some great links there..
Old school-wise, I quite like listening to the Electric Light Orchestra's album Time whilst Ooliting. Kraftwerk are good, too..
Lately I've been on a bit of a techno/trance kick, and came across an EP with several mixes of Zombie Nation's Kernkraft 400 which I've been ODing on tonight.. Reading up on it, I discovered why it seemed so familiar.. it's based on one of my favourite tracks in the old Commodore 64 game Lazy Jones!

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

For writing Oofic, I go for instrumental/classical music, especially Bach's piano works.maaarcooose wrote:Perfect background music for writing my current fic.
(I actually wrote eight hundred words last night - first writing I've managed in two months).
