Space Anomaly or????

Post by Jorge van den Poem »

Hallo,

I am commanding an Anaconda a beautifull ship and am very happy with it. However every once and a while I encounter a sort of space Anomaly which is, that time seems to slow down, I mean every second in real life takes about 15 seconds in the game is this normal procedure or a bug? the only whay to stop this is to quit the game and then restart again has anyone encountered the same experiance ?

It almost sounds as if you accidentally decreased the Time Acceleration Factor. It happens if you pause the game and press the left arrow cursor key. Next time this happens press Shift F to check what the TAF is set at. If my reply is totally off, please excuse.

Another related question to this, what version of Oolite are you running, Jorge?
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

I'd also ask what machine spec you're running on.

My PC used to do this sometimes - despite Oolite claiming it was running at 4fps it was clearly running at about 0.25fps while the CPU went off and did something else (never discovered what).

Thanks for the answers I think I found out what happens. It happens when I try to jump to a very nearby system Sometimes I choose the system which is right beside it they are so close together that one cannot see that the 'wrong' planet is chosen having discovered that this is the case I hit F6 twice target the right planet then via F5 F5 start the jump planner and time is very slow after this procedure nothing helps except quiting the game and then 'normaly hyperjump to the near planet solves the problem so helas no anomaly
