It seems that the International Standard Kilogram has gained some weight due to an accumulation of a few micrograms of surface contamination.
So the good news is my own weight gain can be explained away without blaming my Christmas excesses!

Even better, on any properly re-calibrated scales, I now weigh a little less than I did before!
