Unfortunately I missed the frantic campaign ends due to a couple of days of retreat, but still want to say a heartfelt congratulations!

Absolutely - many congratulations, Drew! And it's good to see Gollancz/Orion trailing along in your wake, too. So ... how many words so far? (That would be an interesting idea: a word-count tracker along the same lines as the Kickstarter money tracker ... not that there's any pressure, of course! Just remember to breathe now and then. )

I think LibreOffice shows the word count in the bottom bar at all times nowadays...

Although I don't think it such a useful information - word count tends to drop/increase upon rewrites and further drafts. The end result could be shorter or longer than the original version.

Alas, this is true for me concernig Elite : Reclamation, and more so because of lack of funds before onset of 2013.
