Time's up guys and girls with a grand total of £1.578,316 plus PayPal contributions.

What a fantastic last few days (At one stage I was seriously worried that we wouldn't make the minimum pledge level).

Lots for us to look forward to now though.

History is officially made. Despite recession, broken promises, 20 years of waiting and rumours of newtonian physics, ELITE IV IS COMING!!

To all who pledged, thank you. I'm an excited forumite today.

Hopefully by the time it comes out I'll own a (no-work) machine capable of running it!

My machine will be (mostly) three years old by then - here's hoping!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

I need to nag my employer for a new developer laptop. (Even though the one I have is just 6 months old).
They don't pay us that well, but they do give us some nice toys.

That was excellent.. the parting comment in the video, "See you all at Lave" triggered a thought..

Picture the following scene.
Date/time: Release day of Elite:Dangerous
Location: The online Lave Station
Event: Tens of thousands of Jamesons, all trying to launch simultaneously, and head off to a mere handful of destinations.

Pandemonium doesn't even begin to describe it..

Given that the name Jameson cost £1500 in the Kickstarter, there will be at most 37 of them at Lave. :)

But, in any case, it is done now! I never thought that it would fail, but I admit I was nervous.

Now, I'll just hope they will not make the space flight feel like we were flying airplanes - I have flight simulators for that and I'd like Elite to be something different.

Didn't someone over at the KS comment thread already suggest that someone should start a Kickstarter to build and sell gaming systems designed to run Elite: Dangerous...
