Oolite BBS having problems today

Post by JazHaz »

I've noticed over the last hour or so that the BBS is having problems. I've once had a "too many open threads" error, and the response times are slow. Hope that it doesn't go down, as Christmas is not a good time for it to happen (but when is a good time for it?)!

Cheers,

Maybe you could start a Kickstarter Campaign to found your £4500 pledge. 8)
Thanks to Gimi, I got an eBook in my inbox tonight (31st May 2014 - Release of Elite Reclamation)!

Not seeing any errors in the bb logs, so this may be from heavy use of the (shared) server from another host at my provider. If the situation continues I'll raise the issue with them.

A few minutes ago I had a "Too many connections" error. I agree with Aegidian.. probably due to being on a shared server.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Lucky you, I must constantly log in. In 50% of the cases when I want to post a message, I was logged out during writing. There are two BBS'es that give this problem. And it only happened on my desktop, not when logged in on my notebook or tablet. The cause is that the last login time is for unknown reason set to two days ago when working on the problem computer. But I never could find what triggers this.

PS. The checkbox "keep me logged in" has never worked for me on any bbs. :(

About the problems: it was also slow on me earlier today, but it is fine now.

Yep... it was painfully slow or not loading at all (same as above - too many connections) this afternoon, but 'tis fine now.

And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!
