Someone grabbed that name the secret founders' system pretty damn fast! £5,000 - crikey!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

SHIPS CONFIRMED!

Eagle
Cobra III
Sidewinder
Anaconda
Viper

Krait? (based on the artwork.)

I'm a little confused on their pledges tho. What if I want to be a Fed Trader but pledge more?

Yes it is a Krait.

What ever pledge level you put in at you will get all previous reward levels (unless specified otherwise). Sidenote, the £20 level and £30 level are confusing. You only get 1 copy of the digital game even if you pledge at £30 or more. The £20 level was an early bird special to get it cheaper than normal.

It is great to see that they will have many of the classics in the new game. I just wonder if they are going to hit us with any completely _new_ ships. :)

I don't think I've ever flown a Sidewinder, so the Default start position has some attraction in that sense, even though I think I'll go for the Cobra Explorer...

Do we need new ships?

The new Viper looks nothing like the old. Plus, I've always loved the classic designs. Still, they confirmed 15 ships, so I wouldn't be suprised if we got a few new ships, especially with the multiplayer focus on this title. There are various types of ship that I think would really compliment fleets. Like support ships or something like that.

I will say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new Anaconda. Something about it. I dunno.

Upped my pledge to the Fed Cobra Trader myself.

Remember that they've also confirmed the Federation, Empire and the Independent Alliance as organisations. No mention of Imperial or Alliance ships as yet. I'd guess it's a strong possibility we'll see an Imperial Courier in there. Hope so anyway!

Cheers,

Drew.

I would love to see Griff's ships in the game, perhaps after mod tools come out?

....but then he would have to create a damage model, and make each room inside the ship so that you can see it when it goes boom. In fact, modding is going to be a real pain for ships. First you create the model, then you fill in the insides with rooms and such for the update that allows boarding, then you have to create a damage model, then you have to do all the stats etc. etc.

I think modding for Elite Dangerous is going to be a pain!

Time will tell I guess, it will really depend on whatever tools are made available.

New site by a pledger (Harbinger), shows you what you will get at various pledge levels.

Elite: Dangerous - What will my kickstarter pledge get me?

Well, I do love the old designs, but the Frontier and FFE games added many ships to the original Elite variety, so I'd hope that Elite4 would also give us a couple of new ones to try to win our hearts over from the old Cobbie...

I've put the banners and avatar images up on my website for anyone who wants to use them for anything (like as banners and avatars, ridiculously).

You can link them by going to http://daftworks.co.uk/ed, finding the image you want, right clicking (or whatever you non-pc people do) and selecting the option to copy the image URL. Then you can paste it wherever.

Merry Christmas.
