Sometimes I run it.

Cheers,

Drew.

ps. It's good in a realistic physics and eye candy sort of a way. Ship combat has the same basic flaw as Frontier... and the galaxy currently has hardly anywhere populated so there aren't many places to go.[/quote]

Think i will give it a miss for the time being then

cheers Drew

Ooo ok, firstly I'd like to thank Drew for keeping us informed. It is something of a tight rope he is walking by doing so and his daring do is appreciated and should not go unacknowledged.

Having read through this most weighty tome of posts I have a minor predictive fear. That this game will be made it will be fairly decent at which point every brother throttling, mothers purse opening, "I'll screw you over for one half of half a percent" piece of pond scum carpet bagger clogging up Eve online at the moment. Will charge on over and secure the immediate deaths of any upstanding trader and in so doing lord bragging rights over them for the next 6 months.

Thereby killing my love of the great game. I still think it should be made however so we can back hack it and create a "nice" private server. :D

Didn't Mr Braben OFFICIALLY say that this would / could not happen?

We have the concept of “groups”. They can be private groups just of your friends or open groups (that form part of the game) based on the play styles people prefer, and the rules in each can be different. Players will begin in the group “All” but can change groups at will, though it will be possible to be banned from groups due to antisocial behaviour, and you will only meet others in that group.

Yup, if the game happens, I'm pretty certain I'll be playing in a group consisting of the members of this forum only... "The Ooliteers" it could be called... :)

It would be good to see the planet Oolite within the game.

Directions to planet Oolite: 'Second star to the right and straight on 'til morning!'
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Yes, of course. Drew can name pretty much everything he wants (with the sole exception of a central star system).

I wouldn't play with 90% of the folks on the internet.

You folks on the other hand... I'd love to see each and every one of you in game. Can't think of a person on this forum I wouldn't want to have on my wing. :D
