No change noticed in frame rate - testing with a 1GHz laptop with ancient ATi OpenGL on Linux. 50fps in free space, 14fps looking at the planet after launching (a function of the old graphics chipset - this machine is 5 years old), about 35 fps looking back at the space station.

I think a better test for seeing how collision detection is working is THE stress test: Tionisla Orbital Graveyard!

I've noticed the same slight framerate increase Wolfwood has. Not much, but welcome anyway ;)

Lave.oxp is still a framerate killer.

David Taylor.

TOGY’s unusually dense, so it won’t get the full advantage of the collision detection optimisation. It’s still a good test, mind. :-)

A small but annoying bug: When I'm offered those annoying Trumbles, it used to say (in an earlier build) that they "would be nice on my Cobra (or some other ship name)". Now, it gives the name of the savefile instead (or the pilot), telling me that those Trumbles would look good on ME!

you could use them as snowboots, though they'd squeak quite a bit when you put them on your feet, ahem...

The demoships sequence is off now, in a way I think I've seen described for other platforms before.. Not every time, but most, the ship whizzes by, staying only in its destination position for a fraction of a second. Occasionally it will appear the normal way but then jump into a readjusted closeup, which is strange but not entirely uncool..

And I was wondering, Giles, have you decided to phase out the use of escortAI.plist?

When I do an aft view, in my Imperial Courier, and hit the injectors, the exhaustflames do weird stuff...
Image

initially, all is normal, but when the speed increases, the exhaust goes 'away' from the ship...Image Pretty sure I didn't see that before the upgrade.

Hi, been lurking for a while, thought it was time I said something.

Anyway I've been playing 1.65b1UB and am flying a Wolf II SE.
When I launch from a Coriolis (Ramaza during Ionics) I find I am colliding with the station. It only prangs the shields a bit, so not affecting the game as such, but I don't think it's meant to happen. Has anyone else had problems like this? It could be the Wolf OXP but it hasn't happened in previous releases.

My machine:
Machine Name: eMac
Machine Model: PowerMac6,4
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.2)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 1.42 GHz

BTW thanks for a great game, so much for 'free time'. 8)

I find with 1.65b1 that my Python ET Special scrapes the docking slit when launching, and that docking with the autopilot at Diso B (from Murgh's Diso.oxp) almost always results in the ship crashing and exploding. If it doesn't crash, large amounts of paint are scraped off both ship and docking slit during the process... Manual docking at Diso B also results in scraped paintwork.

Have the sizes of the docking slits been adjusted? If so, how do the larger ships manage to dock?

It's good to have dogfighting back!
It is generally inadvisable to eject over the target you just bombed.

Imperial Courier too, but only sometimes, when launching, now and then I hear a 'bang' but it's nothing serious.

The new collision-routines, perhaps?
