When rock hermits align... Should we be looking for the Flying Dutchman?
Got all turned around, lost my nav connection... Where am I now?

New laser fx... Oh. My. God. I almost feel sorry for the guys who have to wait until tomorrow for the nightly to get built. Freespace2, eat your heart out. Talking about seriously enhancing combat in the game. Great job, cim.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

By tomorrow you of course mean midnight tonight right?another_commander wrote:I almost feel sorry for the guys who have to wait until tomorrow for the nightly
Midnight GMT right?
As in a mere hour and a half from now right?
I'm off tomorrow, I'm not leaving this chair.
I'm all twitchy.
So then I says to him, I says "naw dude, Oolite ain't no Space Opera... Oolite is Space Rock and Roll!"

I would recommend getting some sleep. You'll need to be fresh when you start combat with the new beams tomorrow.

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
Re: Screenshots
I had a pic of a Caduceus on my HDD too, I made a normalmap for it once Oolite started shipping with materials -directory in shipdata.plist.

The Dark Side?
The new lasers and the heating effect on the Griff gun barrel were made for each other.

Thanks again for that link.. I ran it through google-translate, and it's a quite well-written and occasionally amusing review of Oolite. Well worth a look. I'm loving the new nightly build. Vipers, in particular, are much, much, cooler now.
