When I try to run newest build, I get an application error: "The app was not run correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the app."
Neither re-downloading nor whitelisting FO in my Avast did help.

1. Possible virus.Zireael wrote:When I try to run newest build, I get an application error: "The app was not run correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the app."

2. Faulty RAM.
3. Do you have Symantec Endpoint Protection installed?
All possible problems.
Re: Cannot run rev 5376
Scanned upon downloading, no virus. Whitelisted and excluded from scanning. Earlier versions ran fine, so it's not my RAM. And I don't have the Symantec whatever.
Sengali sent me a PM advising me to turn off Avast while playing Oolite, will see if it helps.

Umm. No.Zireael wrote:Sengali sent me a PM advising me to turn off Avast while playing Oolite, will see if it helps.
I've said that you should try a nightly build and if this fails with the same Access Violation disable Avast while building or exclude the building environment. Whitelisting the oolite process is necessary as well. Avast has caused this kind of trouble a while ago on my box too and after reading related posts in other boards it looks as if it's a Avast specific thingie.
Or switch your virus proggie (which has solved my problem).
Re: Cannot run rev 5376
I tried to run the newest nightly and no, it doesn't run. And a revision of around 5255 (sorry, don't remember exactly) ran fine. Oolite process is whitelisted. So, I don't know what to do.
Re: Cannot run rev 5376
Svengali, thanks for the second PM. However, today I found Norton 360 at a discount and bought it. Newest trunk [rev 5418] works as it should. Probably you were right and Avast messed up something.
