Just a quick note to thank all concerned for writing this awsome game and the countless hours you have all dedicated, I played Elite on my dads ZX Spectrum as a boy, then on my amiga as a teenager, then frontier, and now 23 years later... Oolite and all its amazing OXPs on my laptop when I should be working!
I'm going to have to go cold turkey soon, but funny thing is my seven year old son is in awe of "the space game" and so it goes on, you see another generation of commanders!
Welcome to the boards. Glad to see the Elite/Oolite formula is strong enough to step over from one generation to another. It proves that good gameplay is the most important aspect of a game .
Hi folks,
I'm also thrilled by Oolite.
The almost infinite possibilities provided by OXPs are really fantastic!
And one of the things I love also very much is the great universe of storys and tales round the game. Great!
I'm playing Oolite not for a long time, just for a few weeks, but with hard work and travelling through the hole Galaxy 1 I earned enough money to buy my first Python today.
Without any cheats, of course!
So, thank all the developers for this really, really great game!

Sorry for my bad english. It's not my language and school was 30 years ago. Please, feel free to correct me if it gets to bad.
Hi Hober,
Welcome to the forum.
You are right, a part of the magic of Oolite comes from the OXPs, another part from stories and tales. A big part even from the forum life.
Bravo for the Python. My youngest Jameson did the same recently, a Python Class Cruiser. Started to iron-ass her.
Kas
I find out, that upgrading a Python is much faster than a Cobra. 115 tons cargo capazity for trading is not bad. And today I reached "averidge". I'm a very peacefull trader but some offenders are really annoying. And with shield boosters and two millitary lasers...
Now I'm going to make my "Empty Pocket" a real goog trading ship to get lots of money. And then... Boa 2 Class Cruiser.

Oolite has definitely become my favourite game - I found the game around the start of the year and have got progressively hooked on it, working up from the Cobra Mk III to a Python to the Boa Cruiser I'm flying now and relishing my "Dangerous" level acquired solely on keyboard flying. I've also started playing an alternate game where my character traded the Boa Cruiser for an Anaconda and now operates in what turns out to be "mobile planetary market" mode...
One of my favourite "likes" is the expandability factor with the OXP concept, I regularly check the OXP list for some more goodies and have even worked out how to tweak the odd one or two for my preferences
Many thanks to the developers et al for a fantastic game!
