Military Stingray

Post by Bazza »

I've just traded in my faithful Cobbie for a brand spanking new Military Stingray :D . Problem is, the controls are now much, much more sensitive (I'm using a keyboard) and I'm finding it hard to accurately hit stuff and am constantly getting my ass kicked. I've found that the best tactic is to run away and get them with my rear laser as they conveniently move into the crosshairs; but I'd much rather go charging in like a Klingon! It's like learning to drive a brand new car after years driving a banger and I expect I'll eventually get used to the new ship's handling characteristics; but in the meantime is there any way to tweak the keyboard sensitivity?

You could edit the max flight pitch and max flight roll values in the shipmates.plist to values of 1.5 each. This will make your new ship handle like a cobra mk3. The ship data.plist can be found in the Config folder located In the oxp folder for this ship.

Make sure that you alter the values for the player ship otherwise it won't make a difference.

Then restart Oolite whilst holding the shift key down.

There is in trunk, but not yet in the release version. Or do as Shipbuilder suggests - edit the shipdata.plist.

Using 1.77, hold ctrl down for precise maneuvers. 1.76, Keyboard Cobra OXP with some tweaks will do it.
Got all turned around, lost my nav connection... Where am I now?
