One thing that I have noticed is that other than the firs/computers run between industrial and agricultural systems there doesn't appear to be other major trade routes where you can make reasonable money unless you are trading in the illegal goods.
My suggestion would be to have an oxp which would introduce some more variation for example perhaps the trade in alcoholic drinks could bring higher prices in a anarchic system or perhaps radioactives could bring higher prices in high tech systems.

That sounds like an OXP using script to edit commodities.plist for each commodity based on the tech, government, and economic spectrum.
Examples: firearms would be cheapest in democratic high-tech, never there in corporate, and sell best in low-tech anarchy. Textiles are cheapest in low-tech democracies, sell best on corporate. Communist would have zero textiles because said textiles would have style and be an artistic expression, thus practically contraband.
Brings up another point: selling certain commodities to communist or dictator systems may end up having the local government being less than pleased and sending local forces after you, with a variable chance of Galcop giving a crap.

Even a Cobra 3 has a large enough capacity that Furs often cannot fill it to max. Sometimes, there's less than 10 TC of Furs for sale even at a Poor Agricultural system. Pythons, Boas, Boa 2s, and Anacondas will wipe out all the Computers for sale at Rich Industrials. So either you travel with lots of wasted cargo capacity...or you fill it with something that may be less profitable.

I seem to remember cim made an OXP that adds new cargo types which would only bring profit if brought to the right planet.
