I'm not sure about this one - whether it helps or is just a distraction. Time to share it with y'all and see what youse think. Note that the version number starts with a zero, not a one.
Place the Combat Assistant OXP into your "AddOns" folder. Head to a planet of technical level 11, or above, where you can purchase the Combat Assistant from the ship outfitters for 1750 credits.
Once purchased, the Combat Assistant will monitor combat situations in real time, and categorize any ship you target into one of the following categories:
- ATTACKER, a combatant currently targeting you:
- RESCUER, a combatant currently targeting a ship that is targeting you:
- COMBATANT, a combatant which is neither attacking nor rescuing you:
- BY-STANDER, a vessel not involved in the combat.
Addendum: some piccies, to demonstrate. I came upon two pirate Cobra 3s fighting with a Viper, one immediately targeted me, while the other continued duelling with the Viper.

EDIT: A clean-working OXP, but one that also overrides RandomShipNames. I've moved it into my unused folder, but I suspect that it may come in use later.
A great OXP for a starting player.
Got all turned around, lost my nav connection... Where am I now?
I just came across a link to this on the wiki, and I thought Cholmondely must have accidentally attributed someone else's doings to me. I had completely forgotten about this one. But now that I've seen the images, I can recall knocking this up one evening. Did anyone ever recreate this function in one of the many make-combat-easier OXPs since?
This is not one that was lost in the Great Reformat, nor is it one I took down in the great 1.82 sulk, so I wonder what the answer to Zireael's question is/was? (There's a whole world of nostalgia on this BB once one starts looking around.)
I notice that you hid a number of your OXPs back on 6 January 2013.

Might you have hidden it and forgotten to restore it?
