That "crater" in Arizona is not really a crater...

folk legend has it: Paul Bunyan and Babe were wrestling in northern Minnesota on fine summer day... Paul picked up Babe and gave him a gentle toss....
Babe landed a little hard and created a divot in the ground and this was in Sourthern Minnesota (now called Arizona).
About that same time, Paul and Babe got into a to and fro tussle and gouged out a long trench nearly a mile wide, a mile deep and 111 miles long in Southern Minnesota ( now called Arizona).
This is corraborated in the Minnesota State Archives of True and tested Folk History. Of course we all know that arizona really doesn't exist... it is still part of Southern Minnesota.

I thought there was strong evidence to suggest the largest was the one that created the Gulf of Mexico, and was one of the Dinosaur extinction events?

The Chicxulub crater off of Yucatan is one of the largest, but at 170 km in diameter it's beaten by Vredefort crater in South Africa (250-300 km) and Sudbury crater in Canada (250 km):

There's no evidence, just a theory. Most of the scientific community call it hokum and most tend to vote strongly for the original "plate drift" theory of the Gulf's creation instead.

I'll try and dig out my source, but I'm sure the 'evidence' included deep bores which show significant compacting of the crust into the mantle. They calculated the Meteor size to be around 15KM.
This could of course be the ravings of a madman, if so: NURSE I need my medication.

The dinosaurs all got into big generation ships and went into the big wide yonder of space. That is why you don't see them anymore.

abovementioned article wrote:
The crater was discovered in 1991 in Chicxulub, Mexico, on the Yucatan Peninsula, said scientists who called it the "smoking gun" that backed up the asteroid theory.
It's talking about the Chicxlub crater, not the actual Gulf.

That's a myth perpetuated by the Birds in a bid to gain some respect.

Yeah... me too!
