Hi fellow Oo-ists!
Having lurked here for a while I thought I'd register and say hello and to explain how I have now managed to become an addict (and drag my dad in too!)
I used to play elite with my dad on a borrowed BBC B (with twin cumana's - state of the art

) and 30+ years later we're both oolite players. Being retired now he's got more time to play so he's off in some galaxy far, far away making millions while I'm spending about an hour a day plodding about in gal2... but OXP swapping and oolite conversation still dominates our discussions when we get together (to our other relatives dismay!)
Since seeing the little drawing of the Python class cruiser in the manual all those years ago I knew I just had to have one. Bizarely it is very similar to my "real life" car - an old landrover defender - as it feels clanky, probably smells odd and is a bit tricky to park unless you have the "knack"

I also like to think the PCC leaves a little bit of oil behind in its docking bay when it leaves.
There must be dozens of parallels between real life cars and oolite ships and I'm sure I'm not the only one to have wished I had a Quirium mine fitted when driving about
Anyway, thanks to you all for your hard work in making the game and running the board / wiki.
(off now to paint a sharky face on my car)
