silent fuel scoops

Post by Albee »

I flew last night's 'nightly' to test out the long-range scanner fix (distance and time not being reported when planet name typed in). I'm happy to report the scanner now works fine for me. I did notice, however, that when fuel scooping there's no cheery tune and 'slurping' sound to tell you fuel is flowing to the tanks -- it's all eerily silent.

I've taken Capt. Murphy's advice and attached Latest.log. Please note I've temporarily stripped out all my OXPs to see if that solved the problem. (It didn't).

p.s. I decided to set up a brand new Jameson for testing purposes, called Commander_Test, as I thought that would give a clean 'datum'. Problem is, he can't afford a fuel scoop. Easy, I thought... I'll just edit the save file and give him lots of dosh. Sadly, the only app on my MacBook that seems willing to open a .oolite-save file is Excel, and when I try to save the amended file, it tells me I can't. :( Changing .oolite-save to .txt, amending, then changing back didn't work either, as Commander_Test is no longer there when I 'Load Previous Commander'. AppleScript editor just isn't interested. Any suggestions?

TextEdit will do it just fine. You don't need to change the file extension: just right-click on the file and choose TextEdit from the "Open With" menu.

Bug should be fixed in r4902. Also, the same revision contains the fix for the annoying "laserover-laserover" repetition mentioned in this thread. Thanks to Svengali for hitting the nail on the head with his code contribution in Berlios feature request 5498.
