I don't think so. The relation is thin / far-fetched at best, perhaps in the sense that both substances do pack quite a punch.
And TNT isn't imaginary.

More clues:

After the war, one of the writers became (in)famous song-, play- & movie scriptwriter.

The comic was published first as stand-alone album in 1947, but for unknown reasons, parts of the story were dropped and at places the order of the remaining panes was altered.

Wild guess, more to bump this thread than thinking I really know the answer: Tommy Tomorrow?

Hi again!

No, not Tommy Tomorrow.

I'm afraid that this is a bit too obscure, and partly for the wrong reasons (language), so I'll post one final bunch of clues now.
If nobody guesses/Googles this right by next Sunday, I'll change the question to a really obvious one.

The later-to-be-songwriter author wrote this story under pseudonym Masa Palo.
The co-writer was "Masa Palo"'s cousin, and became also a screen-/scriptwrite & publisher.
This particular comic's drawing style was greatlly inspired by Flash Gordon.
The pulp magazine where this story was first published was called "Isku".
Re-print with correct amount & order of panes was published in 2011 by Zum teufel publishing.
This re-print included another sci-fi comic by same authors: Flying saucer (Lentävä lautanen).

Hmmmm....

Continuing the comic theme, what is this ship and what comic series does it come from?

For added kudos, explain it's primary armament.

Ok... Clue time.

The story starts in a graveyard so vast, the visitors have to travel on a monorail system around it.
The heroine of the piece, Maya, is visiting her husbands grave.

Another clue required then...

The commander of one of these ships is Urik Antares and Maya is his sister.
Maya herself is part of the primary armament for the ship.
The prefix for these ships is R.S.S.

<Google, google, google...>

OK, it's a Red Star skyfurnace, probably the Konstaninov from the 'The Red Star' comic book series.

Indeed it is.

I felt sure someone else on here would have read The Red Star. It's awesome and the Skyfurnace would make a great ship to fly in Oolite or have to go up against.

To complete the extra part, the primary armament of a Skyfurnace are specially trained individuals called Warkasters who are suspended in isolation tubes down the broadside of the ship. On command they change themselves into pure energy, blasting out a powerful destructive beam and if they are lucky (not all are) convert themselves back into human form again.
