Image hosting web site for Oolite screenshots

Post by SandJ »

A friend of mine provides a UK-based 'unlimited' web hosting server which I use - HostPost. I asked him about an easy way to upload images to my web site for posting on this forum and he put me straight saying he already provides a free image hosting service.

(He started out as a freelance photographer, could not find a good enough web hosting service for photographers and so set up his own. Hence his paid-for service supports unlimited download and storage capacity as that is what photographers need. I never dawned on me he provided a free image hosting service too.)

After saying what the Oolite forum thread Screenshots is all about, he said that his service could do that but he would appreciate feedback regarding additional functionality.

Would you please review HostPhotography.co.uk and reply with your feedback for suggestions / enhancements?

I see this: Maximum Filesize: 250 kb - many screenshots are larger.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

As I keep saying, I have 100Gb free to use webspace, no file size maximum (other than those built into PHP - 2GB I think) and no bandwidth issues.

I am happy for people to use it, no restrictions.

Just let me know and I'll install an uploader. :-)

In a departure from my normal habits, I went ahead and did it anyway.

I wanted to practice my php writing skills and this seemed like a good idea. :-)

I've set the maximum file size to 1MB (files bigger than that probably aren't a good idea) and file types are GIF, PNG and JPG.

The Gallery currently only shows an unordered list of the uploaded images. If something fancier is desired then that ain't a problem.
