Q mines explosions appear as a rapidly growing blue sphere(s) so there shouldn't be too much problem identifying them!

Q-bomb. NPCs with the player-style energy bomb would be ridiculous.

Giles, if we're going to have this we need a really LOUD alarm with all the bells and whistles. Otherwise it's gonna be confused with missiles and nobody's gonna have the time to fuel-inject outta there.

They are pretty obvious when they go off, big blue expanding sphere which shows up even on the scanner...
