This probably will not ever effect gameplay on oolite but I thought I might point this out.
The image is self explanitory
Again this glitch is not effecting gameplay at all but I thought it was worth posting.

Re: Minor Glitch
Self explanatory?
Oh no it isn't! Why wasn't this in bug reports? How did you get to be that close to that Koneko? Was its AI dumbed down in any way?
Questions, questions...
Anyawy, that's a simple one to fix, if somehow puzzling...

Re: Minor Glitch
To be perfectly honest, I have really no idea what glitch is meant. So it's indeed not self explanatory.Kaks wrote:Self explanatory?

Re: Minor Glitch
I felt the same. Is the bug that the distance is negative, or that both ships 'intersect'? The later explains a negative distance.Commander McLane wrote:To be perfectly honest, I have really no idea what glitch is meant. So it's indeed not self explanatory.
UPS-Courier & DeepSpacePirates & others at the box and some older versions
Re: Minor Glitch
Well, I took the 'does not affect the gameplay' bit to mean that the only strange thing was the display showing a negative distance.
Sure enough, this could happen at very close distance (it turns out that, rather than the centre of the targetted ship, the range shows how close their collision range is), but the reticle would generally be so big that the 'negative distance' couldn't be seen on screen.
Anyway, no negative ranges can be found in trunk now!

Re: Minor Glitch
I hope that stays this way even after your fix?Kaks wrote:(it turns out that, rather than the centre of the targetted ship, the range shows how close their collision range is)
I'm asking because switching to showing the distance to the ship's centre would affect quite a lot of OXPs.
Re: Minor Glitch
I thought of that, and yes, the calculations stay exactly the same. All that happens now is that it shows shows zero km, instead of displaying the calculated range if the range is negative.

Re: Minor Glitch
I apologize the glitch is that the "distance" between the two ships was negative
