Re: March meeting - Edinburgh
I'll probably get in trouble for revealing this, but Scotland and Wales have been conspiring for decades now to slowly infiltrate this god-forsaken land and prepare for the day when the rallying cry will harken to the REVOLUTION!
You think Wales is full of sheep? NO! Secret soldiers wearing wooly coats. As if any creature would have a call that could so easily be replicated by humans. "Bah" indeed!
You think those drunks in every English city centre are really drunks? NO! Scottish militiamen ready and waiting for the call to arms. OK, most of the Glaswegian ones are ACTUALLY drunk, but that just makes them MORE dangerous!!
You'll see! You'll ALL See!!! Mu ha ha ha ha.

Hmm... a curious fact of life, is that. Pajero central is rife with them!Selezen wrote:You think those [Scottish] drunks in every English city centre are really drunks?
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Re: March meeting - Edinburgh
I used to work in a wine shop Market Square in Nottingham and nearly every street drunk who came in was Scottish. Except the two Irish ones who used to alternate their trip in, even though they both walked up to the shop's front door and one came in whilst one stayed outside. Not subtle.El Viejo wrote:Hmm... a curious fact of life, is that. Pajero central is rife with them!
P.S. Bringing this back into relevant topics, try out the Milnes pub in Rose Street. They did nice food some years back. The Black Rose Tavern is/was also quite nice.

Never been too impressed with Rose Street's pubs and also we are meeting in a pub (The steading) just outside of Edinburgh's ring road. Scottish Oolite meet-ups are too dangerous to hold in town centresSelezen wrote:P.S. Bringing this back into relevant topics, try out the Milnes pub in Rose Street. Re: March meeting - Edinburgh
I'm back from my hols now, and of course what better way to start a holiday than to meet up with a few fellow Ooliteers.
Looking forward to the Nottingham meet next.
