Now that is pretty great, imagine Fermi saying that to Groves, esp. in that time and place... :)
Groves' own claim to greatness came of course from no battles at all, but from being the guy overseeing the construction of the Pentagon. So he was in essence a good large-scale contractor, which is why they put him in charge of the Manhattan Project in the first place.

What were we talking about again?

Was it something about the 15th of March being the 1st anniversary of the Syrian uprising and the day when Western politicians said that since the government is getting the upper hand, the Western governments ought to provide arms to the people, thereby prolonging the civil war, increasing the number of civilian deaths, providing further post-war arms in the region, increasing guerrilla training to militants and generally adding to suffering whilst claiming to keep their hands blood-free whilst aiding democracy?

Shall I shut up with the politics now?

I didn't expect such a crap joke to inspire such a political debate.

For the record the only reason I knew it was the Ides of March was that it said so on the front page of Wikipedia. I don't "celebrate" it or really even recognise it. I just thought "Ides = IDEs". Dumb cable joke.

Sorry. ;-)

:D No, but you might have expected the Ides to fall on the 13th of the month – it does for all months except March, May, July and October ...

Happy IDEs of March, everyone.

Sorry, had to get that one out there.

Heheheheh.. I thought the Foxconn cables rather apt, in a very sad way..

Google the Foxconn suicide nets, aka "nets of a loving heart" to see just one of several reasons why I have a serious problem with Steve Jobs, may he burn in hell.

Here's one link to get you started. (and it remains an on-going problem)
