FreeBSD, 1.65-dev1 tarballs & initial experience

Post by celkins »

After a little 'manipulation' of files within the port skeleton, I've successfully built "1.65-dev1" from the tarballs that are posted on Berlios.

My initial observation is that, whilst looking aft, if I jetison cargo (slaves, picked up after dealing with a fugitive in the neighbourhood), despite the fact that I'm flying forwards at significant speed, the cargo container ejects backwards (correct), but then rapidly closes & collides with my ship.
Elite fan since BBC-B days, in fact, I think I still have my 5.25" floppy discs, somewhere.

That appears to be a bug in the newly introduced tractor beam code.
