Post by jadenrayn »

Hello everyone,

When i was looking for the .oxp ship in game i couldent find it. is it a bad thing if all the OXP in the addons are file folders and the ship is RAR?

A rar file won't work - you need to unpack it then move the .oxp folder contained in the rar into the addons folder

The rar files send me online and ask me to redownload them again.
Is their something to it?

Hi jadenrayn and welcome... it's possible that Vista, like XP, can't extract .rar files. You'd need to download and install something like 7Zip for that.

As an XP user, rars have always irked me a little!

And as a Windows 7 user I can tell you Microsoft still have not included support for RAR files.

You can't blame them (for once) - .rar is a proprietary format.

So because MS can't afford to pay for the license fee, it's long suffering users have to go without?

No offense taken. It just is off topic, that's all. Wish you all the best and a miracle.
