Latest version (coming soon) - and a question

Post by UK_Eliter »

Dear all

I'll soon be posting a new version to testing (and I might try to interest the 'guild of test pilots' in it). Mostly, the OXP seems to work well.

But . . a question. The OXP creates, or at least allows me to see, wormholes in interstellar space that neither show up on the wormwole scanner equipment nor, when one flies into them, take one anywhere. Can anyone explain? A result of the AI command 'performHyperSpaceExitWithoutReplacing', perhaps?

Not sure which OXP you're talking about here - I guess perhaps you hit new topic when you should have hit reply?

Anyway oddly enough I just had the same thing happen in trunk 4744 when testing some of Switeck's jumping OXPs. Wormholes without destinations (if you lock onto them with the analyser they just say "wormhole" and if you fly through them you don't go anywhere.

Initially everything was going ok (did a nice long auto-jump), was then doing a second one when I got dumped out, and from there every time I retried (via the autojumper or onewayticketto<theplaceIcanneverspell>) I got the dud wormholes.

That's a good old friend of a bug. See here for a much more verbose description. (Only at the time of my original report they weren't even targetable.)

This was in normal space, not interstellar. But aside from that it does sound like the same issue, give or take the targetting.

Was quite weird - I ended up with a trail of wormholes like a snake, which I could then turn around and fly back through like a ring racer course ;)

Thanks for the replies, guys. And, yes, I meant to reply to the 'Interstellar Tweaks' OXP.

I'm painfully familiar with the wormhole bug and was hoping to get away from it while I was testing Thargoid's Swarm OXP. But apparently it's back with a vengeance and is now attacking other people as well.

Tinfoil hat mode:
It's the witchspace disease...witchspace is bleeding over into regular space now that I've done too many wormhole tests!
