Just wondered if there is a way to invert the joystick axis in oolite? I got a bit overenthusiastic this morning and splashed out on a CH flightstick and fully intend to have standard controls for that, but it won't be delivered for a couple of weeks. In the meantime I am using an xbox gamepad and simply can't get used to up pitching down (fine with the keys, but too many xbox shooters have hardwired my thumbs for the pad).
I had a look in GNUStepsDefaults which seemed the likeliest place but couldn't find a suitable option.
Thanks
Jon

Re: Inverting joystick axis
What OS are you on Jonboy (just in case it's OS dependant answer) - personally I can't remember - I thought there was an invert axis option in the joystick config options - but I'm not at an Oolite machine at the moment to clarify my memory.
I the good ole days I had a joystick off my Atari 2600 for playing Elite on my C64 - Front view - joystick normal, Rear view flip joystick round, left view, point left side of stick at screen, right view point right side of stick at screen - that way - pull back always made you climb (relative to your view), down always made you dive... Ah, simpler times...

Hi DaddyHoggy,
Am on win7 64. Definitely no option within Oolite. I have just remembered I could install the xbcd drivers for this gamepad which I think would let me make the tweak, but they seem a major faff to install on this OS, as opposed to win XP. Anyway my CH flightstick arrived a couple of days ago, so the xbox pad is now firmly relegated to the xbox - problem solved.
PS just been reading about yours and Jim McKenna's work in the library prior to boarding the Dubious Profit - never suspected i'd be having a conversation with you this afternoon!

And the first property I ever bought was a flat called "Jon Boy's House" - named (slightly incorrectly) after a English Civil War leader... little did I know...
