What Ship are you currently piloting?
Just out of interest, I guess we get a little attached to our craft for a great many reasons. OXP ships are included.
I am still very much attached to the Falcon S, for speed, for cargo space and an adequate 8 pylons which is more than enough for most witch bouy to station bouy journeys. Though I have been spying out fora Naval energy grid equipped model. I have tried the Leviathan known as Krinim, I have flown a Boa and a Python. All great ships but not as nippy as the Falcon.
Anyway, I started off the thread with my preferred ride and why. Anyone feel like sharing their current ship.. My Alterior motive should be quiet transparent..I am on the scout for a superior vessel , and there aint no better folk to ask than travel worn space farers
All the best Duggan (rating competent)

Re: What Ship are you currently piloting?
I am currently (and for the next weeks or months?) flying a Moray Medical Boat - I never did before.
Atm. I have not yet fully adapted to its reactiveness and high speeds, and sometimes still crash into whatever I was flying towards to.
What surprised me most is that I am actually able to sometimes kill a lonely enemy with my mining laser. I have whopping 3 kills on my record now.
It is mostly fast enough to run away, and small enough to allow a wild docking style, cutting off other ships right at the dock entrance.
The one ship I was looking out for (but never found) in my previous longtime game was the Purple Haze - looks good in unshadered, and is so very rarely to be found in shipyards that I thought, should I ever find one on offer I'll have to buy it.

Currently flying a Vortex.... ugly, mean, has high cargo capacity, holds 25 missiles in rotary magazines(5 in each)so you can mix and match... I always keep one filed with extra fuel just in case I make a misjump. Currently have cloak, triple laser, naval unit, sniper sight, iron hide, naval iron hide, flight planner. In other words, just about the equal of a caddy omega. I started out as trader but realized there is money in offender and fugitive scalps... this vessel is ideal for that. some will think, Uber ship but I still get battered around when on a misson and often come in on a wing and a prayer.

Used to be a Vortex - it got me to Elite - now fly a Kracken, one of my own ships.

Not Wonderworm
I fly a custom Vortex, with a higher cargo and missile capacity, but I usually play the game only to test OXP's now adays. I have some special OXP's that makes it almost indestructable. But one of my NPC ships achieved to get me the message 'Press Space'.

Re: What Ship are you currently piloting?
That's to bring back my point about niches and balance - there are some ships which can make even a hard(ish) lane encounter become trivial, thus unchallenging and not fun... but feel right at home in situations where the normal lane dweller wouldn't last a minute.Yah-Ta-Hey wrote:Currently flying a Vortex(...) some will think, Uber ship but I still get battered around when on a misson and often come in on a wing and a prayer.
Just because they're overwhelmingly powerful for the lanes it doesn't mean that the player isn't having fun - in their own way, seeking their own niches.
What's more needed than new ships, are more missions - and not only for the higher-specced fighter or awe-inspiring battleship niches, but mainly for all the old spacers out there still (and always) faithful to their heirloom Cobbies.
BTW, I <3 my Kirin...
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

Griff Multidecal Cobra Mk 3 with paintjob modified to my liking. Not likely to change any time soon.

Re: What Ship are you currently piloting?
Currently flying a standard Python, but my preferred ship is a Boa Class Cruiser. I love the cargo capacity plus the scoop view, makes it a ship that can do everything I want.

Wouldn't you all like to know.
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

i would love to do missions, i have a load of ideas, but i don't know JS. what we need is someone to create a Mission Editor where you can assemble items and it'll compile it into JS for you.
