On what Oolite date did you become Elite?
How long in Oolite universe time did it take you to get to Elite? (Assuming you are, of course!)
I'm on 4,814 kills on date 2084608 so, assuming my kill rate is linear with time, I should get to Elite in another 200 or so Oolite days. (Commander Jameson was given the keys to the Cobra at ¼ to 4 pm on 2084004.)
Do you know on what date (roughly) you got to be Elite?

I have switched savefiles twice, using the same Elite rating, so I can be disqualified. I started over from scratch once, but switched back to the easy life just yesterday, actually.
But anyway, I'm at 4447 kills as of 180142933677.2218, says my savefile. Currently relaxing in an unnamed Caduceus Omega with 6,762,427.5 creds.

I turned Elite at 2086110.20.30.49, according to the ship's clock at the time...

Not really sure... I don't keep tabs on things like that... I live by the moment. having 10392 kills, I just keep going and going in my vortex, racking up kills and fortunes. Currently in galaxy 6 and once I make the rounds, I will turn a new leaf and start over as a new jameson and his cobra III. so good luck in your hunt for Elite.

May I ask what the current date is in your Ooniverse?Yah-Ta-Hey wrote:Not really sure... I don't keep tabs on things like that... I live by the moment. having 10392 kills, I just keep going and going in my vortex, racking up kills and fortunes.
(That sounds a bit rude, a bit like "Oh yeah? And what colour is the sky on your world?" but I don't mean it that way!)

Never. I'm not playing to get to Elite - I'm playing to have the lowest amount of cash for the least amount of kills - I've played to Elite on lots of versions of the game - now I want to play it a different way.
(Still, an interesting question to ask!)

Making the same rash assumption that your kill rate per day remains constant throughout your career, (which is unlikely), that suggests you are about 430 Ooniverse days away from Elite.

Again, following the rash linear kill rate assumption, you have been Elite , sorry, ***ELITE*** (I like that), for over 4 Ooniverse years, and having played for over 11 Ooniverse years!Yah-Ta-Hey wrote:here you go...

Re: On what Oolite date did you become Elite?
I would not put too much stock into a linear model... check out some of my posts here and in screen shots... I seem to draw search groups rather consistently... many of these groups have more than 20 searchers out to get my hide. So I often get a large kill in a short time or I may go for onse-twosy contracts. If I go on contract.. then it is usally 5 at a time... the target and his/her escorts and sometimes, I will stick around ang get some more offenders/fugitives who happen to cross my sights as targets of opportunity. then I also hunt Thargoids in misjumps....and considering that a single Thargoid can spawn up to 8 Thargons.... the count racks up pretty fast. Definitely non linear combat progression.

Re: On what Oolite date did you become Elite?
Having rushed my way to Elite rank twice on the BBC (and thrice on PC Elite Plus), I took my time with Oolite, exploring a lot and taking in the sights along the way.
My timestamp was 2086.206 when I hit the magic 6400! The kill rate depends somewhat on which OXPs a player has installed.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

This. It is not unusual for me to take out a couple each jump or so, but if I'm playing a mission, that's when the kills really start racking up. Especially if there are Thargoids involved.El Viejo wrote:The kill rate depends somewhat on which OXPs a player has installed.

Re: On what Oolite date did you become Elite?
Yeah, that assumption doesn't apply to me. I travel a lot, so I spend a lot of time in witchspace according to the clock. I'm on a long haul right now, actually. Add to that a lot of time avoiding the space lanes for whatever reason, and some other unpredictable behavior depending on my mood, I could become Elite in a few months or even a few years according to my Real Life clock, but yeah, it'll probably take over a year according to the game's clock.SandJ wrote:That equates to 2084987:15:47:57.RyanHoots wrote:I'm at 4447 kills as of 180142933677.2218, says my savefile.

Never unless I bother.
I keep restarting from scratch so my 1000's of kills never add up on the same character.
I do more testing than playing.

Never been there!
My main Commander has just over 4000 kills and I haven't got a clue how much game-time that's taken.
I've hardly played for the last year ( too busy churning out OXPs )so it'll be a while yet for that Commander, and my Newbie is still in G1 with, I think, 15 kills currently but then he's not chasing kills as such.
I guess it's not that important to me
