A Mostly Deadly Christmas.
As a quick pre-cursor to my up-coming fic, I thought you might like a little festive themed, spontaneous, poetry writing.
With copious thanks to Clement Clarke Moore (1779 - 1863).
Twas the night before Randomas, and all through the ship.
Not a creature was stirring, they were having a kip.
The ship hung in orbit round a distant small moon
Frozen solid and helpless, they wished for help soon
The cats were all curled up snug in their beds
With visions of mice being chased in their heads
Velisa was snoozing in the co-pilots seat
Wrapped up in a duvet and fluffy socks on her feet
When out on the scanner, a trace there did beep
It roused poor Velisa unceremoniously from sleep
Into the command chair she dived very fast
And flicked round the viewscreen from fore, sides and aft
The moonlight reflected off frost like new snow
The control panel was frozen, on her hands she did blow
Then coming on closer, she finally saw
A ship being towed by three asps, maybe more
A little old voice came over the comms quick
"Hey darlin'. You stranded?' It was Jolly James Nick.
In a wide sweeping arc he steered round the ship
And came within range of the docking port lip
And then with a crack and a hiss and a thump
Velisa looked up to the airlock and jumped
She hit the button to allow him egress
And Jolly Jack Nick jumped down into the mess
He was dressed in an overall with a hat on his head
It was covered with oil hiding the original red
With a toolbox he had dangling from his strange claw like hand
He looked like a mechanic from a very far away land
His eyes were compounded, and shone like a star
His cheeks were all rosy, fresh from a fight in a bar
His smile beemed wide like a docking port's maw
Then he dumped his tool box with a clatter to the floor
He scanned round the bridge and stuck a pipe in his teeth
Lighting it quickly he said 'I'll be brief.'
'I'll have this all fixed and be gone in a flash.'
'Just kiss my old cheek and leave me some nice cash.'
Velisa stood back and showed him the way
Then under the console he dived and was away
With tools flying this way and clanking about
As he stood up at last he smiled wide and did shout
'It's all fixed my dear, just needs a reboot.'
'I'd love to stop longer but afraid I must shoot.'
Then true to their deal she planted a kiss.
He smiled broadly to her and then the airlock did hiss
As the ship powered up and she shuffled her feet
She spotted a present left on the command seat
Then she heared him exclaim over the comms, out of sight.
'Merry Randomas my darlin', and have a good-night.'

Re: A Mostly Deadly Christmas.
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
It was going to be a proper written piece but after doing a SAP upgrade, poetry was more fitting with the time I had.
I will get the main piece finished soon.

I ran out of time to gif-ify it so that the lights blinked on and off (but thanks all the same!)Killer Wolf wrote:OT - lol at DH's xmas lightsabre
