Trumbles eating everything, including my save file

Post by Spooky »

I've just had to cut about 30 <dict> entries for trumbles out of my savefile.

I was getting the following error

Code: Select all

at line: 782 column: 14 ... internal error 2006-03-21 10:58:02.789 oolite[570745] File NSDictionary.m: 592. In [GSDictionary -initWithContentsOfFile:] Contents of file '/Spooky.oolite-save' does not contain a dictionary
2006-03-21 10:58:02.789 oolite[570745] >>>> /Spooky.oolite-save could not be parsed as a saved game
Edited to contain the actual filenames rather than "a.oolite-save" that I was butchering.

Looks like you messed up when you cut bits out!

Editing your save-file is NOT a recommended method for getting rid of trumbles - aside from anything Oolite uses the checksum on that part of the save-file to re-establish redacted trumbles.

No, that's the error I got before I cut things out (but thanks for assuming I'm a bit special :?). It's working fine now that I have edited the save file. And don't worry I didn't cut them out completely, I just left a 2 in so that I could hear the little fsckers scream

Your real solution is to:
1. Get heat shields
2. Go sunbathing

It takes a while though.

Ok, ok...

I'll say this clearly for the people in the cheap seats.

The trumbles are dead, they were climately enhanced! They are no more, they are deceased... they are EX-TRUMBLES

I'm just trying to report a bug concerning a save file and the number of trumble entries in it...

I still have the pre-edited save file that causes the error if you need it or want me to do anytihng with it.

Well you could include it in the bug-report you're sending me at [email protected]

A plan so cunning I could pin a tail on it and call it a fox... it's winging its way to you right now.

FWIW every saved game should have 24 entries for different trumbles in it. No more, no less.
