[SOLVED] Problem with Oolite on Linux, 1.75.3 & 1.76.0.4676

Post by RyanHoots »

To make a long-ish story short, I dumped Fedora 16 due to issues with Oolite (I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was minor) just to get worse problems.
Oolite 1.75.3 had no audio on Fuduntu (Fedora-based). And whenever I try to close the program, it freezes. ^C in the terminal does nothing. I usually have to use Force Quit from the panel or System Monitor to kill the process.
So, I took this chance to update to 1.76.0.4676, the latest build from this page: http://terrastorage.ath.cx/oolite/status.html
Same problems as before. I tried the workaround that calls for the removal of some libraries in Fedora, but that only made it impossible to load Oolite, so I reinstalled.
There's nothing obviously wrong in the latest.log, but I'll post it anyway:

Code: Select all

A hunch. Maybe deinstall debug oxp? (based on the last two lines)

Strange... it worked. But I've been getting those exact errors since I first updated to 1.75.3, and there were never any problems. Thanks, Zireael. It never would have crossed my mind.
