What's the worst thing to happen?

Post by Fatleaf »

I was just having a bad time getting shot up and got to thinking.... What is the worst thing to happen while in a fight? Besides being blown to smithereens that is!

What is your opinion?

Damage to the Military Shield Enhancement is pretty bad. Over 20,000 Cr. of repairs for one lucky hit, and you might have to go well out of your way to find somewhere with the right tools to fix it at all.

back in the BBC Elite days, i was thrilled to finally locate the Constrictor. i knew it dropped a cargo cannister w/ goodies in so i set off. and got killed. and got killed again. and again....you get the picture. anyways, after many frustrating failed attempts, i finally had one fk-off fight : you know the thing, all missiles gone, gun in the red for 80% of the battle, down to the last energy bar etc. Finally the bugger made a run and me and i nailed him w/ the laser, finger jammed to the key to make sure. Bang goes the constrictor. Cannister spawns. right under the crosshairs. bang goes the cannister. "F************KKKKKK!!!!!!" goes KW.

start again.

It's not a virus, what he's got is a serious debugging session coming.
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

After battling through a whole system - including far-flung moons and stations - scouring for computers to deliver on the next jump, I was rammed by a freighter right in front of the main stations' dock...

"Press Space, Commander", and that big cloud of crates just floating there seemed to be mocking me.

No, the worst thing to happen, which happened to me recently, is being shot up so much that more than 50% of your equipment is damaged.

It was in a GalNavy Reserve mission against the Thargoids. I survived but just barely (along with a single Navy ship). One of the items damaged was my fuel scoop, there was loads of thargons about and no way to scoop them. And I didn't have any repair nanobots available.

I suppose I could have just reloaded my save, but that's cheating.

Maybe you could start a Kickstarter Campaign to found your £4500 pledge. 8)
Thanks to Gimi, I got an eBook in my inbox tonight (31st May 2014 - Release of Elite Reclamation)!

That's why you should enable the Docking Protocol, to stop ships from launching when you are coming in.

Ignorance has a price... traffic control is now (belatedly) also on my Ooniverse. Thanks!

Just remember to keep cycling your lock else all those turrets won't help you much.

He modified a Kirin XM to carry a Plasma Accelerator. Not that it would help him much against that many Bugs.

What did we learn from the Battle for Tibecia?
Pack an E-bomb, and maybe a Q-bomb or two. Mass extermination is the best way to deal with an overwhelming swarm of Thargoids. Trying to pick them off one at a time is suicidal.

BTW Maegil, manually docking that big beast sure is fun, eh?
