Re: Paperback of 'Torn'?
The good lady has even spoken to a few of us in irc, as I recall... as has a Gimlet.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Surely my magnificent Mo' will convince her that I'm perfectly normal?Gimi wrote:You are not helping me in my endeavours to convince the wife.

<Gimi runs and hides behind the chair in the corner. Carefully peaks out at the Boogeyman on to computer screen>. Oh, it's only The Birdman. All is well.

Yep, and the Gimlet is nagging me for his own IRC account/setup. I suspect he will be joining us at the next Gravity Waves (if he behaves that is).El Viejo wrote:The good lady has even spoken to a few of us in irc, as I recall... as has a Gimlet.

Re: Paperback of 'Torn'?
I'm not normal, and I resent the comparison. I spend a significant portion of my time working out the internal arrangements of fictional spaceships, for crying out loud. And the rest of the time I play with LEGO.Gimi wrote:I'm trying to convince my wife that the people on this bb are just normal people. Giving her Torn (I already have a copy on my iPod) might just do the trick with Drew, for the rest of you lot, I see no way ahead.
There's no hope for me. I once had the following conversation:
Max: "What would you rather have: Sex or LEGO?"
Me: <thinks> "How big is the LEGO set?"

Please note: I'm trying to convince my wife that people here are normal. Nowhere does it say that I believe the people here are normal.Selezen wrote:I'm not normal, and I resent the comparison. As for your second point, I would probably ask whether that was a LEGO Mindstorms set or not. Then again, given all the stuff you can build with Mindstorms, including different types of programmable robots, you could combine...... (No, forget that, sorry )
Edit: Another masterful derailment.

I suppose answering with "How good will the sex be?" is a no no?
Cheers,
Drew.

Re: Paperback of 'Torn'?
It all depends on how big the pieces are.
Re: Paperback of 'Torn'?
Are we still talking about the Lego here?

Yes - Lego Duplo, in this case.
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

When will I ever get around to building a Lego Cobra Mk3... Well, no time like the present.
