One to watch. Clean on SFS but a few odd forum memberships via Google.

Unfortunately insomnia doesn't work like that... trying to go to bed usually results in what I call "frying to a hard sole" - named after the wrong way of preparing a steak (for those who don't cook, it means that if you continuously flip a stake, even the tenderest meat becomes hard).

Utterly off-topic cooking tip: you should grill or fry each side in one go, with high temperature, without moving it about and raising it every few seconds to check if it's done enough.
While a well done steak requires less heat to cook the inside without burning outside, when intending to do rare or medium-rare the fire should be stronger to insure at least a thin coat of taste-enhancing well done, slightly toasted meat around the bloody rare meat core.
You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

Actually, it does work. The trick is using a non-adhesive (Teflon-coated or properly burnt stainless steel or iron) thick frying pan and a wooden spatula.

BTW, here's a sailor's basic side dish spam recipe:
spam in 1cm3 bits
same volume in chopped onion 1cm2
1/2 volume in red wine
oil, salt
coarsely ground black pepper
provence herbs, thyme

Heat up a thick frying pan with a dash of oil
add the onion, pepper and a dash of salt, stir and lower fire and cover for 1-2 minutes
raise the fire and add the spam, slightly crushing it with a wooden spatula,
let it fry until the bits of spam stop sticking and become a bit crunchy on the surface, scraping the frying pan regularly to prevent the spam from burning
add the wine and the herbs, let it reach a strong boil and evaporate most of its volume off, stirring gently from time to time.

Maybe these off-topic posts should be moved to the social club thread.

There's no reason the Spam thread should be immune to thread derailment, it is, after all, the most likely to be brought quickly back onto topic!

Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

Darn twitchers got me up for a few that may have slipped the net,

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=17460
One hit on SFS. It says it is "Vinyl Window Manufacturers"!

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=17327
With 371 entries on SFS!

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=17299
This was tagged by Gimi on Mon Nov 14, 2011 9:39 am and was presumed to be clean but the count has risen to 172 entries on SFS. So I thought I would bring it up again.

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=16837
116 entries on SFS.

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=16569
2 entries on SFS.

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=15770
I tagged this on Mon Oct 17, 2011 1:47 am with 1 entry on SFS it now has 20.

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=15504
Tagged by Ryan on Sun Aug 28, 2011 2:08 am. Now has 200 entries on SFS.

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=15426
Tagged by me on Tue Aug 23, 2011 6:46 am with 1 entry on SFS it now has 151.

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=14934
4 entries on SFS.

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=11282
19 entries on SFS.

https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... ile&u=9310
Tagged by Disembodied on Fri May 20, 2011 3:43 pm with 2 entries on SFS it now has 500!

All the above have spam-free IPs and emails. Profile names are often reused and even copied by spambots ... "Jameson", for example, the name of member no. 2 on this board and hardly a suspicious name here, appears on SFS because somewhere, someone has also used it as a bot name. But thanks for checking – it's always worth another look at some of these ... and in amongst them you picked out ...

*
broader https://bb.oolite.space/memberlist.p ... le&u=16461
3 entries on SFS.

... who does have email confirmation of spamminess on SFS – and who has been disposed of.

That's the last 150 members checked with SFS and I re-tagged the ones with greater entries on SFS than their original posting.

Right where is Cmdr. Maegil's thick bottomed pot. All that tagging gives one the munchies

Oh, and one more thing...... Good morning :D
