Re: Trading Practice
I'm currently waiting for my docking slot at Tianve Orbital... prepare for a full report in "Tales from the Spacelanes" after I dock safely (or not). But for now, just know that I LOVE your custom cobra set... my Cobra Mk3 Taylor Miller is the best looking ship in chart one.

Re: Trading Practice
While we are off topic, I want to warn CommonSenseOTB to be careful. I would hate to see a random hits contract put out with his name on it, especially since, if it was listed as a hard one, I would be obliged to take it.CommonSenseOTB wrote:I rob from the rich and give to the poor--->me.
On topic, I sometimes put stuff in hold before/after a contract to run it back to the main station/a seedy space bar. I only have 18 tons cargo though, so I don't carry much. I used to trade every system when I started out.
Re: Trading Practice
I hope you've factored in some 'equipment credits' into your budget. I like to ensure I've got an additional 30-50kCr on top of the new ship purchase price so I can deck my new baby out with all the mod cons - Mil Lasers, Docking Computers (yes, I can dock manually, yes, I am lazy), Injectors, ECM etc (not necessarily in that order though). Being a Jameson in a base model Cobra III is fine but you wouldn't want to live there...RyanHoots wrote:I'm currently waiting for my docking slot at Tianve Orbital... prepare for a full report in "Tales from the Spacelanes" after I dock safely (or not). <offtopic>No worries, I have about 5k and all absolutely required equipment. Including docking computers, I'm lazy, too. Although I've always wanted to dock an Anaconda manually... </offtopic>Bugbear wrote:I hope you've factored in some 'equipment credits' into your budget. <ontopic>I've been relying on trade a lot recently, due to the purchase of a shiny new ship and all, and I'm still in the general area of Tianve. I plan to move to G5 when I get the chance. I'm tired of not having a cloaking device.</ontopic>

Re: Trading Practice
I trade at every stop, even ones that are not very profitable. What I really like to do is stay in one system for awhile. Poor Industrial, unstable worlds are my favorite as they often offer good prices for certain commodities. I arrive with an empty hold and harvest along the way to the station, but never from trader types, only the bad guys. After selling off my re-stolen goods I'll head back out again. When the action slows I'll leave the system as my current quest is to visit every world in chart 1.
